Activities

Find trails within a mile of the cabins, with less-traveled entrances 5-10 miles away. Or take a scenic hours' drive to explore Cataloochee, North Carolina, where the largest herd of elk roam in the GSMNP.  Of course, the ever-popular Gatlinburg entrance to the national park is within 30 minutes (depending on traffic) of your stay.

UTV tours and a Moonshine Distillery three minutes from the cabins. Sounds risky, but it's a nice spot for a drink with friends whether you are adventurous or not.

This isolated valley is on the quiet North Carolina side and the best place in the national park to see elk and historic framed structures of the 19th and 20th centuries.

A moderate-strenuous hike located on the quieter-side of the GSMNP and not from the cabins.

A mile from the cabins awaits a walk in the serenity of the GSMNP. Hike pass the Baxter cabin and earlier homesteads' ruins.

A 11-mile loop drive in the Townsend area of the national park is one of the most beautiful coves and historic heritage sites in the GSMNP.
